§ 01OVERVIEW
Robotics AI Engineer Location: Worcester, Massachusetts Long-Term Project Note: Only USC Responsibilities • Lead and execute a U.S. Army SBIR Phase I project focused on Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models and bi-manual cobots. • Develop and deploy VLA/VLM/LLM models on both cloud environments and embedded robotic platforms. • Own the full technical stack and roadmap for a next-generation robotic AI platform. • Build, integrate, and optimize software for UR5e robotic arms, end-effectors, and manipulation systems. • Architect and maintain systems using ROS/ROS2, robotic middleware, and Universal Robots’ RTDE interface. • Write high-quality, production-level code in C++ and Python with a rapid iteration mindset. • Collaborate cross-functionally to support military-grade and industrial-grade performance requirements. • Work flexible or non-traditional hours to meet mission-critical development goals. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, robotics, engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of hands-on experience. • Strong programming expertise in C++ and Python. • Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and machine learning model implementation. • Proficiency with ROS and ROS2 frameworks. • Hands-on experience with Universal Robots (UR5e), RTDE protocols, and manipulation systems. • Proven ability to deliver high-quality solutions quickly and independently.
