Job Description
As a Trainee – Machine Shop, you will support daily shopfloor operations and learn core manufacturing processes. You will work closely with the production team under supervision, gaining hands-on experience in machine operations, quality checks, and safety practices.
This is an onsite role based in Kancheepuram, reporting to the Production Supervisor.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support day-to-day machine shop operations
- Operate and support machines such as punching, drilling, tapping, and powder coating
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and follow safety guidelines
- Support production targets related to quality and productivity
- Support basic machine setup, measurement, and inspection activities
- Maintain housekeeping standards and follow 5S practices in the work area
- Learn and improve technical and operational skills under supervision
THE ESSENTIALS - YOU WILL HAVE:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any degree (with willingness to work in machine shop)
- Basic understanding of mechanical concepts
- Willingness to work in a shopfloor/production environment
- Ability to work in shifts, if required
THE PREFERRED - YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE:
- 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing or machine shop environment
- Exposure to conventional machining processes (drilling, tapping, punching, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of measurement tools and inspection methods
